Last Run of April 2020
10.7 km logged on the backyard trail today. It rained most of the morning but let up in the PM. It was quite humid , had a little sun and a little rain during the 12 laps and the temp was around 13C. It was a rather pleasant way to wrap up April.

Logged an AM and PM 5.6 km trail run today. Rain , 8C and wind but I was comfortable and enjoyed it.

Another single run day
5.6 km logged on the backyard trail before work today. Worked on my new trail segment this morning. Marked it yesterday then followed up with the chainsaw today. If the weather is OK tomorrow a pick ax and rake and a few hours should make it runnable.

Same
There is a theme this week, Wednesday was a late lunch run in the mid afternoon followed by another after work. Yesterday it was a 5.6 km first then a 6.1 km ...the hill was pretty slippery with the snow melt so stretched it out a bit returning home through the neighbors place.

Friday and Saturday
Thursday took more out of me then I thought it did. It was nice weather on Saturday and I wanted to go multiple loops again but my legs didn't have it in then I was spent. So on both days I did my 6 loops good for 5.6 km each day.
Looping Thursday
Logged 28 km on the backyard trail Thursday. Did it in a little unconventional way doing 5 separate runs with a minimum of 30 minutes in between to be awarded a point in the April Challenge.
Basically its 5 of the same 5.6 km runs ...Garmin GPS data is a little off. Its 400 metres to the trail head then a 800 metre loop done 5 times good for 5.6 km each outing.
It was a really miserable weather day , high winds with snow off and on and the temp a few degrees to just below freezing. I generally prefer not to run in these conditions so it was a good character builder. So the 5 runs made for 20 complete clothing changes. Each loop dropping my normal close , getting into my running gear then reversing it on return. The return to the house was a quick strip done as soon as I entered the house. Hung all the gear next to the wood stove to be baked dry.
This turned out to be a very effective day. Felt like I always do after any long run and was really tired 2 days out like after an Ultra! I will definetly be doing this again its also a good leed up to the day I run a full 50 km back there sometime in May.

Mid 4, 5 and 6
This has been a rather routine week for me pulling a night shift from home. I more less get up late afternoon. Have breakfast and catch up on the crazy Covid 19 world then head out for an hour or so run on the backyard trail. Afterwards its an hour or 2 in the hot tub, time preping food and having my lunch before starting work again. With all that going on its been super easy to get lost in my head on the trail so I am thinking a long one is in order ......
1 lap = 800m under good conditions thats about 6.66 min / lap
30 km would be 38 laps = 4.2 hours
42.2 km would be 53 laps = 5.8 hours
50 km would be 63 laps = 6.9 hours
Of course thats without breaks!
So in summary the last 3 days ....

Two 30 km long runs were done at the Y March 7th and 14th. Was planning one more BUT Covid 19 struck ... Y was closed. I am not super keen on going long in the colder weather but the need has evaporated with PYP and Seaton canceled. I am running trails now , almost daily and will continue to do so through April unless we get a dump of Snow. I am off next week so I will pick the best weather day and do a long one.

Working mids from home. Instead of running on my lunch break I am taking a nap. When I roll out of bed 4ish usually I have a bite and hot the trail. Today it was 6.3 km logged on the backyard trail.
