18 km on the treadmill today. First hour sucked then I got into it. Held the pace at or below 6:00 today last weeks speed work tweaked the left knee a bit. Maybe next weekend I can take it outside for close to a 3 hour run ...ever so slowly building more volume.

Back to work!
5 km on the treadmill at work today. Intended to do another trail run yesterday but I just ran out of time.
Weight in 181 lbs ...still on the winter heavy side but trending lower.

The week so far!
Or I should say not far. Just two little trail runs , Tuesday was 6 laps / 5.6 km with Dax. It was cold overnight so the snow froze solid there was no problem staying on top. The weather was just plain nasty on Wednesday so I called it a rest day. Thursday was warm , 8C so it was messy. Left the dog at home and did 7 laps on teh backyard trail good for 6.8 km. Walked the first lap to check out the conditions and then walked the last lap a good cool down. There was a little bit of post holing going on and a pretty uneven surface but otherwise OK being 95% snow covered. It was pretty slow going at around 10 min pace when I was running. A good workout none the less.

Mid 7
Hit the gym at 5am , started to run but the bones were rattling so I walked 5 km instead. It was nice.

Mid 6 - Going Long
18 km on my meal break today. First 17 km were at a sub 6:00 pace bobbed between 5:27 and a 6:00 pace. I actually found the 5:27 pace easier ... a different rhythm!

Something Different
I just didn't feel like running but I wanted to move so I did a 3 km walk on my meal break this morning.
Two Run Tuesday
Ran a virtual PI day run with Raj, Patrick and Mark yesterday afternoon. Just a little 5k fun run done through Owen Sound in about 32 minutes. Best part was getting together with these guys ...

Weekend
I was headed to the Gym at work on Saturday but turned around due the snowy weather so I made it a rest day. Made to APK for my longest run in awhile logging 16 km , 1h43m at a mostly 6:00 pace. It was really great to run longer and I will repeat this next weekend gradually building some volume ahead of PYP 50k at the end of April. Monday was also a reset day starting another round of night shifts this week.

I'm back!
I was skiing in BC last week , no energy or time to run with 5 back to back full days in the mountains.
Working eves this week the plan is a 5 k @ 6:00 pace Monday through Friday then at least a 10 km on the weekend with some increased volume the following week taking it outside for 2-3 hours at the beginning of April. Hopefully the weather cooperates!
