Running fast sucks!

Things hurt more after running a 1/2 fast the 100 miles slow ( with the exception of my trashed feet).  Just did a 5K recovery run ,  calves hurt,  right hip hurts and the left knee joined the party!   Maybe if I did more speed work it wouldn't be quite so hard on me.  But then again speed work makes things hurt.  What an oxymoron!
